World's most expensive CITIES
"Tokyo is still the world's most expensive city, according to a survey of 134 cities by the Economist Intelligence Unit, a sister company of The Economist. The cost of living in Tokyo is 37% more than in New York. However, as a result of the stronger euro, Paris has now overtaken London, which itself is 9% costlier than New York. At the other extreme, one can live in Buenos Aires, São Paulo or Manila for less than half the cost of New York." (2003)

And in June 2006, Mercer Consulting says Moscow was the most expensive city in the world, with Oslo being ranked 10th. Meanwhile, Swiss Bank UBS puts London in first place, followed by Oslo, New York and Tokyo. (more...)
