"...For the stock market to ignore Bush's unpopularity seems strange. The vast majority of large stockholders and active traders are Republicans, and Republican rhetoric is generally very market-friendly." (more ...posted 3/21/2006) (http://finance.yahoo.com)

"...Many investors assume that Republican presidents are better for the stock market. That's not true." (more... posted 12/2/2005) (http://www.usatoday.com)

"...But Democrats, it turns out, are much better for the stock market than Republicans. "...Looking at the 72-year period between 1927 and 1999, the study shows that a broad stock index, similar to the S&P 500, returned approximately 11 percent more a year on average under a Democratic president versus safer, three-month Treasurys. By comparison, the index only returned 2 percent more a year versus the T-bills when Republicans were in office. (more... posted 1/22/2004) (

"...What I found, in contrast to the published data, was that the Republicans win this particular contest, with a compound annual return of 5.58% for Republican Presidents, and 5.12% for Democratic Presidents. The numbers do not change appreciably if you start from 1900, which is what the popular statistics I have seen are based on. " (more ... posted ?) (http://home.comcast.net/~truthsucks)
